Frequently asked questions
Why is your baby starter kit made in Berlin?
Our clothing is made with great care in our Berlin workshop. Short transport routes, high-quality materials, and meticulous craftsmanship ensure that every garment brings lasting joy.
What clothing is suitable as a gift for a new baby?
High-quality bodysuits, grow-with-me trousers, hats, and cuddly outfits made from natural materials are especially popular. Practical clothing that fits for a long time often stays with families well beyond the first few weeks.
How many items of clothing does a baby really need?
Often less than you think. Instead of buying many individual pieces of clothing, it’s worth investing in high-quality, grow-with-me favorites that can be combined in many different ways.
When should I buy the baby essentials?
Many parents start buying the initial baby essentials between the 28th and 32nd weeks of pregnancy. This leaves enough time to prepare everything without rushing.
Is sustainable baby gear worthwhile?
Yes. High-quality, durable clothing made from natural materials can be worn for many months and often passed on to siblings or other family members. This conserves resources and reduces unnecessary new purchases.
What is the advantage of grow-with-me baby clothes?
Grow-with-me clothing often fits babies across several sizes. This means less clothing is needed, favorite pieces can be worn for longer, and new sizes need to be purchased less often.
Which materials are suitable for newborns?
Natural materials such as cashmere blends, organic cotton, TENCEL™ Modal, and bamboo viscose are especially soft, breathable, and gentle on sensitive baby skin.
What clothing does a winter baby need?
Winter babies benefit from the layering principle. A breathable base layer, a warming mid-layer and—for outdoors—a boiled-wool overall or boiled-wool jacket keep your baby comfortably warm without overheating quickly.
What clothes does a summer baby need?
For summer babies, lightweight, breathable natural materials are ideal. Short- and long-sleeved bodysuits, thin trousers, a lightweight hat, and a thin jacket are often sufficient. For cooler evenings, a lightweight cuddly suit can be useful.
What size should I buy for the baby essentials?
Most newborns start with size 50 or 56. Since babies are born at different sizes and grow quickly, we recommend initially buying only a few items of clothing in one size.
How many bodysuits does a newborn need?
Many classic checklists recommend five to six bodysuits. However, with bodysuits that grow with your baby, you may need fewer, as they fit for significantly longer and need to be replaced less often.
What is included in a baby's basic equipment?
Basic equipment mainly includes bodysuits, trousers, rompers or overalls, hats, sleepwear, and, depending on the season, warm outdoor clothing. It is important that the clothing fits comfortably, is easy to put on and take off, and is made from skin-friendly materials.
